Frequently Asked Questions:

Q.  Do you have one of those machines that you can plug in and tell exactly
what is wrong with my vehicle?

A.  There are many machines, scanners, meters etc... that assist us in
diagnosing problems with your vehicle.  While these machines give
us valuable information, none of them tell us exactly what is wrong.
Think of a doctor using an x-ray machine.  The machine takes the
x-ray, but it is the doctor who reads the x-ray and makes the
diagnosis.  We have machines that retrieve codes from computers,
measure voltage, resistance and current in electrical circuits and
sometimes sensor values during vehicle operations.  All of the
information received is like the x-ray but it takes experience to
interpret the data and analyze the vehicle.

Q.  Do you work on A/C in cars?

A.  Yes, we do service A/C in cars and we do repair and/or replace the
system if needed.  We can also just add freon if needed.

Tips on Conserving Gas

With today's prices reaching an all time high, we would like to share a
few tips on how to get the most out of your gas.
Whether you drive an old or new car, you can increase the energy
efficiency of your vehicle by performing routine maintenance and
adopting good driving habits.

Avoid aggressive driving.  Speeding, rapid acceleration and braking
wastes gasoline.  It can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent at
highway speeds and by 5 percent around town.  Sensible driving is
also safer for you and for others, so you may save more than gas
money.

Observe the Speed Limit.  While each vehicle reaches its optimal fuel
economy at a different speed (or range of speeds), gas mileage
usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph.  As a rule of
thumb, you can assume that each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like
paying an additional $0.21 per gallon for gas.

Remove excess weight.  Avoid keeping unnecessary items in your
vehicle, especially heavy ones.  An extra 100 pounds in you vehicle
could reduce your MPG by up to 2%.  The reduction is based on the
percentage of extra weight relative to the vehicle's weight and affects
smaller vehicles more than larger ones.

Avoid Excessive Idling.  Idling gets 0 miles per gallon.  Cars with
larger engines typically waste more gas at idle than do cars with
smaller engines.

Use Cruise Control.  Using cruise control on the highway helps you
maintain a constant speed and, in most cases, will save gas.

Keep tires properly inflated.  You can improve your gas mileage by
around 3.3 percent by keeping your tires inflated to the proper
pressure.  Under-inflated tires can lower gas mileage by 0.4 percent
for every 1 psi drop in pressure of all four tires.  Properly inflated
tires are safer and last longer.

If you have a warning light such as Check Engine Soon, get it
checked out as soon as possible, this could be a problem that would
cause fuel loss.

Remember not all fuels are created equally.  Check with your
automotive technician for his recommendation of fuel for your type
vehicle.
